Feeling lost in my faith..

Hi all,
For those who don’t know me well, I became a christian about 6 years ago on my own. I have never attended church services of any type. Years ago I simply began to feel a longing inside for something more and came to the realization it was a relationship with my Heavenly Father that I was missing. I began reading the bible on my own as well as various bible studies to try and come to an understanding of what being a christian meant. In 2005 I accepted Jesus Christ as my savior. Not long after, I came to a belief in plural marriage simply from reading the bible and realizing that it is an accepted type of marriage and the fact that there has never been any scripture to condemn it (and please don’t start with Mark 10:7 because it does not speak against polygamy in my opinion! LOL).
I have heard many of your stories about being shut out of fellowship and various churches because of your beliefs, and this has always kept me from even joining a church and attending. Over the years it has never truly bothered me that I don’t attend church with others, often my husband and I will have biblical discussions (he has not attended church for years but used to be very involved so he has a lot of knowledge), I read the bible as much as possible and I was doing some home bible study courses for the past few years provided by the world church of God until I ran into some things in one of their studies I did not agree with (surprisingly, the study’s topic was marriage and family! LOL). I guess it wasn’t until the last couple months that I have started to want something more in my faith. I have been to two BF retreats and my favorite part is the group fellowship and worship, especially the singing and Doc’s awesome prayers. It makes me happy to be able to worship with others, and I have been wanting that more and more as of late. So much so that I am considering just walking into a local christian church and going to services so I can get more of the same. I guess my m…

Hello from SC

Hello all. SeekingGrace is my wife of 8 years, some of you may know her.
Well anyway she has been telling me about BF for the past few weeks so I
figured I may as well get on here myself. I’m 29 and have been saved for almost
10 years now. I accepted the validity of polygyny basically from the first time I
read through the Bible (again about 10 years ago) but never thought
it would realistically be the case in my life. It seems that God has different
plans though, He has brought our family on quite a journey of enlightenment
In the past few months. I have seen the benefits of this lifestyle to all parties inolved
pretty much from the time our second child was born but never really thought my wife would come to accept it. I have a fairly demanding job, a family and also
a few hobbies so I may not be on here every day as some are, but feel free
to ask me anything you would like and I will answer A.S.A.P.
Thanks and I look forward to meeting you all.

South Dakota — such a nice place

Of Me.
I was born in So Cal and left about 15 years ago. I became a follower of King Messiah while late in school. After high school, I joined the army and travelled Europe. After the army I was married and worked for 15 years in the computer field. During this time we had 4 kids in about 6 years. We moved to Knoxville, TN where I became a Messianic Rabbi for about a year. I was still working in the computer field.

I left the computer field for to attend Bible College, I still did computer work at college, and then became a pastor. As a pastor: I attended seminary, had two churches in three years, and had HaShem move me in differing directions.

Between the first and second church, I subbed at a local school. I was asked by a fifth grade class, what is a transitive and intransitive verb, as their teacher could not explain it to them. I explained how to tell the difference, gotta love three years of Greek, and I saw the lights go on. I then explained poetry to them, and they were in love. Still one of the best days of my life, well at least in the top ten.

After pastoring I went up to Minnesota (eh) and taught Bible for three years at a Christian school. Because of the local conditions half the high school teachers were let go. I spent the next year getting a teaching certificate in Social Studies and working part time.

I now teach high school social studies at a long term treatment facility for juvenile offenders. While I work on a MA in history and political science. Oh the stories I could tell. My wife and I are still married. I have three kids in college and one still in high school. My wife home schooled all the kids all the way through.

Of HaShem (Hebrew for THE Name)
We are Messianic Jewish. I am a tish more eclectic in theology then most. We follow the traditions of the fathers and keep shabbos, kosher, and follow Torah as best as we can. At school I am known as the local (and only) Jew. I seldom talk about King Messiah, in that way I can preach the gospel at…

Hi from Vermont

Hi to all here, and thanks to those who have made me feel welcome!
I have been a believer in polygyny for several years now. Has been a long journey: from being raised Roman Catholic, to believing in nothing, to marrying a seminarian (later a pastor) who divorced me after 23 years.

I am an older (66) woman and wonder if there is any hope for me to find a husband?

Also, I am helping in the Biblical Families. org room on Paltalk. We are open Saturdays from noon til 4 pm EDT, and Wednesday evenings 8-10ish EDT. The room is usually open early and we have had some lively discussions. I had hoped to meet more of you there. I hope that you will take some time to join us. Sometimes we get questions that only those living the lifestyle can really answer. Also I hope that we can be an encouragement for you.. :D

How many Old Testamanet new Years are there?

The month that contains Passover is the new year

"This month is to be for you the first month, the first month of your year.
Exoudus 12:2 NIV

In the first month you are to eat bread made without yeast, from the evening of the fourteenth day until the evening of the twenty-first day
Exodus 12:18 NIV

So why do people claim Rosh Hashanah is the new year?

Some Jewish people told me there are 4 new years, but only two Rosh Hashanah and Passover are in the Bible.

They said Rosh Hashanah is the new year for counting years, but Passover is the new year for counting months. (Although the new year technically starts a few days before passover.)

I asked them if the Bible actually says Rosh Hashanah is the new year and they could not so me where, it says it is the new year.

Does anyone know the answer to this.

I have noticed that orthodox "jews" actually add a lot of rules that are not in the Old Testament and subtract a lot of rules that are. I am wondering if this is another such a case.
