Deliberations from Psalm 119

Without hesitation we joyfully affirm that it is God’s Word which “is a lamp to our feet, and a light to our path” and like the Psalmist we “have taken The Lord’s testimonies as an inheritance forever, for they are the rejoicing of our heart”. Ps.119:105, 111. What a wonderful picture, an enlightened walk of service with the accompanying heart of joy, and all through the instrumentality of God’s wonderful book, the Bible.

In the matter of the paths of marriage and especially polygynous marriage, the Lord’s testimonies will also bring enlightenment and rejoicing in our hearts. That is, if we have studied the Lord’s testimonies about marriage and especially polygynous marriage. How much do we know about polygyny from God’s Word? If we only know jumbled bits and pieces then we are not ready to defend this truth or consider living it.

Remember the techniques used when Eve was seduced by the enemy? He questioned with some surprise the Words of the Lord when he asked her;
….. And he said to the woman, Is it so that God has said, You shall not eat of every tree of the garden? Gen 3:1

Notice the cunningly convenient exclusion (freely), inclusion (not) and altering (you shall not) of the words so as to present the Lord’s liberality as a prohibition. Our Lord actually said this;
And Jehovah God commanded the man, saying, You may freely eat of every tree in the garden, but you shall not eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. For in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die. Gen 2:16-17

The Serpent jumbled God’s words to present them in a negative suppressive tone and why was it that Eve stumbled at God’s Words and opened the door for Satan to attack Adam? Eve followed the enemy’s pattern. She jumbled and stumbled at the Words of the Lord and responded thus to the enemy’s seditious question;
And the woman said to the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden. But of the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, You sh…

In John 10 what does the word "gods" mean?

Hello I have been thinking about the word translated "gods" in John 10, and I have not come up with an answer that feels fully satisfactory to me. I have come up with several possible meanings that are not polytheistic, but I am looking for other peoples ideas about how to correctly understand what is meant by "gods" in John 10. I also put some other scripture that might or might not help

psalm 82 NIV

1 God presides in the great assembly;
he gives judgment among the "gods":

2 "How long will you [a] defend the unjust
and show partiality to the wicked?
Selah

3 Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless;
maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed.

4 Rescue the weak and needy;
deliver them from the hand of the wicked.

5 "They know nothing, they understand nothing.
They walk about in darkness;
all the foundations of the earth are shaken.

6 "I said, ‘You are "gods";
you are all sons of the Most High.’

7 But you will die like mere men;
you will fall like every other ruler."

8 Rise up, O God, judge the earth,
for all the nations are your inheritance.

[a] Psalm 82:2 The Hebrew is plural.

John 10 :31-38 NIV

Again the Jews picked up stones to stone him, 32but Jesus said to them, "I have shown you many great miracles from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?"

33"We are not stoning you for any of these," replied the Jews, "but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God."

34Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your Law, ‘I have said you are gods'[e]? 35If he called them ‘gods,’ to whom the word of God came—and the Scripture cannot be broken— 36what about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world? Why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, ‘I am God’s Son’? 37Do not believe me unless I do what my Father does. 38But if I do it, even though you do not beli…
